The Drawing

The Village of Pelham traces its origins to 1788, and many community members take pride in preserving the historical integrity of its modest homes. So when we proposed adding a colonial-style second floor to our 1917 bungalow, the Architectural Review Board got concerned. Fortunately, one of the board members, a licensed architect, had extensive training in historical renovations, and took it upon himself – free of charge – to propose an alternative design in keeping with the bungalow/Craftsman feel of our original home. His detailed sketch formed the basis of our final design plan, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. We only wish more Pelham residents took advantage of this invaluable resource.
